scan00052Dunkerton-Elery  C. Michelsen, 87 of Dunkerton, died Tuesday, May 5,  at Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, Cedar Falls after a long illness.

He was born October 10, 1974 at Fairbank, IA. son of  William J. and Elizabeth W. Siggelkov Michelsen.

He married Beatrice Robinson Weber on October 10, 1974. He is survived by his wife: Beatrice of Dunkerton; one son: David (Mary) Michelsen of Waterloo; Step-Son: David Weber, Debbie of Portland, OR.;  two step-daughters: Diane (Rodney) Stearns of Waterloo, and Lisa (Michael) Onuscheck of Stevenson Ranch, CA. , six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Visitation on Monday, May 11, at Woods Funeral Home from 9:30 until time of service.  Services at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma, one daughter, Patricia, two step-sons, Michael and Brian Weber, and his parents

brian-weber5FAIRBANK- Brian John Weber, of Fairbank, died Thursday, March 6,  at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

He was born  February 1, 1964 in Waterloo, Iowa son of James and Beatrice Robinson Weber Michelsen.

Survived by: his mother and step-father, Beatrice and Elrey Michelsen of Dunkerton, one brother, David Weber of Portland, OR., two sisters, Diane (Rodney) Stearns of Waterloo, Lisa (Michael) Onuscheck, Stevenson Range, CA., a step-brother David (Mary) Michelsen of Waterloo.  Also several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by:  his father James Weber in, 1969, a brother Michael Weber in 1997 and a step-sister Patricia Michelsen.

Michael had been employed by the Eagle Tannery in Waterloo for 22 years and most recently was employed at City Laundering Co. of Oelwein.

Services at: Memorial Services are on Monday, March 9th, at 3:00 p.m. at Woods Funeral Home.  Inurnement at a later date.

FAIRBANK: Mary Joan Murphy, of Fairbank, died Tuesday, January 27, at Parview Care Center in Waterloo.

She was born January 22, 1925, daughter of Joseph and Jeanette Sampson.

She married Robert D. Murphy on July 3, 1948 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Waterloo Iowa.

Survived by; two daughters, Mary Ann (Jerry) Wildebour and Rebecca Peters both of Waterloo.  four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Preceded in death: by her husband, Robert on Decenber 6, 2004, her parents, and two brothers.

Services : at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 30, Immaculate Conception Catholic Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. both at funeral home.

Memorials may left to the American Cancer Society or the Fairbank American Legion.

FAIRBANK-Wilma M. Yeager, of Fairbank, died Wednesday, January 7, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born February 19, 1916 in Buchanan County, Fairbank, Iowa, daughter Walter and Lona (Chase) Kerns.

She married Glenn Yeager on November 24, 1936 at Fairbank, Iowa.

Survived: by: five daughters: Carol Wilson, Cedar Falls; Glenda (Donald) Brandt, Donna (David) Trimble, Dorothy Yeager, Susan Vilmain all of Fairbank. One son: Gordie Yeager of Fairbank. Fifteen grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.  One brother: Duane (Verna) Kerns, Westgate; three sisters: Dorothy (Duane) Ford, Oelwein, Daphine Rourke, Catherine Weber , both of Fairbank. Sister in-laws: Madeline Kerns and Ruth Kerns, both of Fairbank.

Preceded in death by: her husband, Glenn, infant son, Walter and daughter, Bea Thompson, three brothers, John Kerns, Robert Kerns and Harold Kerns. Sister in-law, Beverly Kerns.

Services: at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fairbank with burial in the church cemetery.  Visitation on Friday, January 09, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Rosary at 3:30 p.m. and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

FAIRBANK- Myrtle (Myrt)) M. Frame , of Fairbank, died Monday, December 29, at Mercy Hospital in Oelwein.

She was born February 8, 1913 at Canton, Sourth Dakota, daughter of Albert J. and Rose (Buffington) Oakland.

She married Lloyd Frame on February 25, 1938.

Survived by: one son Robert (Kay) Frame, Fairbank; three daughters: Kay Waggett, Waverly; Karen (Don) Pint, Fairbank; Kathy Post and friend, Michael, Oakdale, N.Y.  11 grandchildren: 23 great grandchildren.  One sister: Alberta Wimmsett, Tangiers, IN.; brother in-law: Dean (Gail) Frame, Texas.

Preceded in death by: her husband, Lloyd; five brothers: Roger Oakland, Russell Oakland, Lowell Oakland, Andrew Oakland, Arlo Oakland. One sister: Sadie Thornson. Son in-law, David Waggett.  Two great grandchildren: Drake and Kelcy Frame.

Memorials Services: 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 2, United Methodist Church, Fairbank, with inurnment in Fairbank Cemetery.

FAIRBANK-Dollie C. Peters of Fairbank, died Monday, December 22, at Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein, of pneumonia.

She was born December 3, 1909 at Fremont, Iowa, daughter of George and Grace (Lamphiear) Riley.

She married Joseph Peters on November 29, 1934 at Volga City, Iowa.

Survived by: One son: Raymond Peters, Fredericksburg, two grandsons: Theodore (Merrie) Peters, Clarksville, TN., Paul Peters and Jill Olson, Waterloo, one granddaughter: Mona (Brad) Clarey, Kansas, four great grandchildren, one sister, Waneta Ohl, Barstol, CA.

Preceded in death by: her husband, Joseph, one granddaughter, Joelle, her parents, six brothers and two sisters.

Services: at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fairbank with burial in the church cemetery.  Public visitation on Friday from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. with Scripture Service at 5:00 p.m. at Woods Funeral Home.

FAIRBANK-William (Bill) H. Wolfgram, of Fairbank, died Friday, October 31, due to an automobile accident.

He was born August 17, 1958 in Elma, Iowa, son of Darol and Anna Mae (Laue) Wolfgram.

He married Katie Murphy on July 9, 1983 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fairbank.

Survived by:his wife, Kathie of Fairbank, one daughter ( Laura (Steve) Wissink of Fairbank, his mother, Anna Mae Wolfgram  of Fairbank, four sisters, Lynette (Greg) Fuller of Fairbank, Lisa (Mike) Greco of Oelwein, Teresa (Billy) Shepherd of Fairbank and Emily (Greg) Kleinheksel of Fairbank; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Preceded in death by: his father Darol, paternal grandparents Bill Wolfgram, Viola and Raymond Meyerhoff, and maternal grandparents Herman and Clara Laue.

Services:at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fairbank, with burial in the Fairbank Cemetery.

Visitation: on Monday at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour before services on Tuesday at the church. Prayer service at 7:45 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

She was born October 16, 1928 Delaware County, Earlville, Iowa, daughter of Herman and Florence ( Meiners) Buchholz

She married Duane Wenger on November 25, 1948.

Survived by; Four sons: Ken (Diane) Wenger, Fairbank; Bob (Mavis) Wenger, Atkins; Rich (Ruth) Wenger,Fairbank, Roger (Vivian) Wenger, Oelwein; a daughter in-law: Carolyn Wenger, Lincoln, NE. 8 grandchildrenand 4 great grandchildren.  Two brothers: Merlen (Thelma) Buchholz, Sumner, IA.; Marvin (Vonna) Buchholz, Beloit, W:I; two sistera: Hazel (Wesley) Hamblin, Jesup; Melba (Bill) Beabower, Brandon.

preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, Duane, and one son, Steve.

Services at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, United Methodist Church, Fairbank with burial in the Fairbank Cemetery.  Public visitation on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., and one hour before services at the church.

FAIRBANK-Mabel J. Mohlis, of Fairbank, died Tuesday, August 5, at Oelwein Care Center, Oelwein, of natural causes.

She was born September 6, 1912 in Buchanan Count, Fairbank, Iowa, daughter of George and Ida (Miller) Polege. 

She married John Henry Mohlis on September 6, 1930 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fairbank.

Survived by: one daughter, Grace (Robert) Lendaman of Malakoff, Texas, and one son, Kenneth (Annetta) Mohlis of Fairbank, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by:  her husband, John on October 17, 1984, her parents, one brother, George Polege, and two sisters, Nellie Geistfeld and Violetta Duran.

Services: at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 8, St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fairbank, with burial in the Fairbank Cemetery.  Public visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and an hour before services at the church before services.

Fairbank-Gene Reiter, 51 of Faribault, MN., died Wednesday, June 25, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester, MN. after a brief illness.

He was born July 26, 1956 in Oelwein, IA., son of Henry  W. and Alice  M. Albrecht Reiter.

He graduated from Wapsie Valley High School in 1974. 

He married Deborah Lorensen on March 15, 1980, they later divorced.     

He is survived by two sons: Joe Reiter and Nikke of Eagle Lake, MN; Jesse Reiter, St. Paul, MN.; one daughter: Elizabeth Reiter, Worthington, MN.; Grandson: Dawson; and his special friend, Sunni Reikne. One brother: Paul (Linda) Reiter, Waterloo, IA.; Four sisters: Ruth (Marvin) Taylor, Dysart, IA., Mary (Paul) Speer, Moorisville, N.C.; Donna (Ed) Sadler, Fairbank, IA. and Lavonne (Kenny) Fischer, Waverly, IA.   

Visitation on Sunday, June 29, at Woods Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Services at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded  in death by his parents.
