Fairbank: Joan Jeanette Heineman age 79 passed away March 20, 2015 at the Denver Sunset Home of natural causes. She was born May 19, 1935 the daughter of Peter and Ida (Engel) Staack at their home near Hawkeye, IA. Joan attended and graduated from Oran High School. She married Duane Heineman May 24, 1953 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fairbank, IA, they made their home in rural Oran where they raised their six daughters. Joan and Duane lived on the farm until 2005 when they moved to Parkview Assisted Living in Fairbank, Duane passed away on July 27, 2006.
Survived by: six daughters; Linda VanDaele of Jesup, Terri (Bob) Mudd of Walker Debbie (Larry) Saurbrei of Readlyn, Cheryl (Al) Dancer of Denver, Lori (Bill) Hoskyn of Solan and Michelle Ragsdale (Rex Helfrich) of Washington, 20 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren, one sister; Helen (Merlyn) Cummings of Santa Barbara, CA and one sister-in-law; Margaret Staack of Oran.
Preceded by: her parents, her husband, one grandson; Ryan Ragsdale, two sisters and their husbands; Arlene (Ray) Roete and Evelyn (Milton) Potratz and one brother; Lavern Staack.
Services: Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 10:30 am St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Oran
Visitation: Tuesday, March 24 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Woods Funeral Home and for one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
Burial: St. Peter’s Cemetery, Rural Oran, IA

To the Heineman Family. So sorry for your loss. I always remember how your mom would have yummy treats when we got off the school bus. She was a hard worker. Our parents sure knew how to have fun!!;-) But they also made sure we were in Sunday school every Sunday. We sure loaded the cars down coming home:-D Hang on to the memories!!
