Oran- Francis John Youngblut, 90, of Oran, died Friday, June 17, at Grandview Care Center, Oelwein of natural causes.
He was born February 27, 1921, in Oran, Iowa, son of Frank and Anna (Phillips) Youngblut.
He marrried Mary Ellen Klenzman on July 1, 1942 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein, Iowa. He was in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He had owned and operated the Youngblut Feed and Fertilizer for many years, then purchased the Elevator-Youngblut Elevator in Oran, IA. and operated that until he retired.
Survived by: his wife, Mary Ellen, four daughters: Barbara (Dennis) Yungtum of Waverly, Carol Youngblut of Fairbank, Marilyn (Larry) Briddle of Nelson, Missouri, Darlene (Bruce) Smith of Boonville, Missouri. Six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: Five sisters, Agnes Youngblut in infancy, Mable Slater, Josephine Freitag, Margaret Chase, Helen Campbell. Three brothers, Leo Youngblut, Burton Youngblut and Lawrence Youngblut.
Services: at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 21, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fairbank, with burial in the church cemetery. Military rites will be conferred by the Fairbank American Legion, Fortsch-Duffy Post 552. Public visitation on Monday, June 20, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Oran or Fairbank Fire Departments..
