scan00041FAIRBANK-Melvin Anton Babinat of Fairbank, died Sunday August 09, at  Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, of complications of a stroke.

He was born at Voorhies, Iowa, son of Adolph Albert and Marie Clara (Svoboda) Babinat.

He married Bernice Federspiel on September 28, 1948 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertsville, Iowa.

Survived by: his wife, Bernice, ten children, Michael (Debra) Babinat, Cedar Falls; Barbara (Dale) Wille, Waterloo; Judy (David) Kolbeck, Waterloo; Yvonne (Edward) Smith, Marion; Ronald (Lori) Babinat, Waterloo; James (Sally) Babinat, Big Bend, WI.; Eugene (Jo) Babinat, Sour Lake, TX.; Jane (Fred) Weber, Jesup; Helen (Alan) Heitz, Aurora; Kenneth (Tracy) Babinat, Rocklin, CA.  Eighteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.  Two brothers, Francis Babinat, Reinbeck and Adolph Babinat, Hudson and one sister, Mary Ann Bryon of Princeton, Missouri.

Preceded by:  his parents, granddaughter, Jennifer Babinat, and three brothers,  Edward, John and Siemon.

Services: at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fairbank with burial in Church Cemetery.  Public visitation on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Parish Rosary at 3:30 p.m., and Rosary by the  Fairbank Knights of Columbus-Council No. 11161 at 6:30 p.m. and Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. all at the funeral home.
