FAIRBANK-Jamie Lee Risse, of  Fairbank, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, due to complications of cancer.

He was born July 1, 1972 at Iowa City, Iowa, son of James & Kathryn (Kruckenberg) Risse.

He married Jessica Marie Boehme on June 10, 1995 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fairbank, Iowa.

He was a graduate from Wapsie Valley High School, Fairbank.  He attended NIACC in Mason City, Iowa for two years and then graduated from the University of Northern Iowa.  He was employed at American Color Imaging in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Survived by: his wife, Jessica, three daughters, Haley, Hanna and Kate, one son, Kobe, all at home.  His parents, James and Kathy Risse, of Fairbank, Iowa.  His father in-law and mother in-law, Tom and Judy Boehme of Fairbank, Iowa. His maternal grandfather, Willis Kruckenberg of  Hampton, Iowa, paternal grandmother, Harriett Risse of Readlyn, Iowa.  Sister in-laws and brother in-laws, Michelle and Shawn Mullihan and Lewis and Chris Boehme, both of Fairbank, Iowa.  Also many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: Grandmother, Marlys Kruckenberg and grandfather, Wilbur Risse.

Services: at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fairbank,  with burial in the Church Cemetery.  Public Visitation from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

  8. Kathy & family: I sorry to read of the loss of your son, he is now at peace with the Lord & watching over you all daily. Jamie is no longer in pain. I went to Stanley school with you & Mike. I believe my brother, Dick graduated w/you & he sends his deepest sympathy also. Treasure all the memories you have of your son as a child, adult,he as a wonderful husband & father. Although I have lived in Fairbank for over 8 years, I never had the pleasure of meeting Jaime or your family, however, I have heard countless stories of what a wonderful father, husband and coach he was, and what an impact he had on the people’s lives around him.     I am a customer service rep and I speak often with the folks at Print Express and have grown to love them as people as well as a customer. So when someone there is hurting — I are hurting with them. Kathy is a mama like myself and we often talked about the “kids”. My prayers are with you — Jim and Kathy and for Jess and your children at this time. May God wrap His arms around each of you and carry you thru these next few days. But then for the days – weeks and months to come. Hang onto those memories and speak often of them to the little ones.

I always enjoyed my many visits with Jamie, before, during and after the many basketball games in which I would face his well coached teams. He will be missed by the Wapsie Valley community for his display of oustanding sportsmanship as well as a great role model for the many young lives that he touched. My condolances to the family. We mostly remember watching Jamie play basketball and football with our nephews in high school. What an outstanding individual he was. And it was obvious he remained a wonderful person, husband, father, and son.   28. Jamie coached me me a few years back now when I was in HS at wapsie. I live far away now and just heard the news. Very sorry for your loss
